Frequently Asked Questions

What should I prepare or bring for my first Physiotherapy session?

If you were referred to the clinic by a doctor, please bring along your Doctor’s referral letter and any scans or reports that you might have from the Doctor about your condition.

At TPC, we believe in working with our patients in a collaborative manner, hence you can have a think about what you would like to achieve from your rehabilitation sessions to discuss with your Physiotherapist.

What can I expect from my first Physiotherapy sessions?

During your first session, our physiotherapist will do a thorough history taking to get to know you better and about your condition. They will then bring you through a physical assessment which would require them to feel your muscles and joints and analyse your movement patterns. Your assessment findings will be discussed with you and together with you, your therapist will come up with a rehabilitation plan that is unique to you.

Depending on what your findings show, your therapist will do some hands-on therapy or exercise-based rehabilitation during the session. The session will end with them educating you on how you can manage at home and the homework exercises you would need to do till your next session.

What should I wear for my physio session?

Comfortable sports attire and shoes will be sufficient. If you are having your hip, knee or ankle treated, please wear shorts.

Do not worry if you do not have the right attire for the session as we have shorts and T-shirts available at the clinic for you to borrow.

Will I be able to reschedule or cancel my session?

You can call our clinic hotline to reschedule/cancel your session. Preferably, do give us at least 24 hours notice so that we can give the slot to others on the waiting list. Kindly note that cancellation charges WILL apply if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. Cancellation charges WILL NOT apply in the case of personal emergency or if you are unwell in which case a Medical Certificate will be required.

Can I claim Physiotherapy under insurance, and do you do direct billing?

Most insurance companies cover Physiotherapy however, it would be best if you check with your insurance provider directly if you require any clarifications.

We do not do direct billing at our clinic. Our front desk staff will issue you an invoice after payment is made and you can use this to make your claims.

Do I need a doctor’s referral letter to be seen at the clinic?

No, if you have a condition that is musculoskeletal, we can assess and treat without a doctor’s referral.

If after assessing, we feel that it is a condition that requires a specialist’s input then we would refer you on accordingly.
